With a new emphasis on college images and logos, 2015 Panini Contenders Baseball returns to collectors after several years away. Heavy on young talent, hobby boxes include six autographs.
Although the base set was not specifically covered, Season Tickets include recent college grads and former NCAA greats. Draft Tickets, Championship Tickets and Cracked Ice Tickets parallels are exclusive to Hobby. There are also one-of-one Printing Plates.
Largely focused on signed content, 2015 Panini Contenders Baseball features plenty of autograph options. College Cracked Ice Tickets Autographs are only found in hobby boxes and includes players like Andrew Benintendi, Dansby Swanson, Alex Bregman, Carson Fulmer, Dillon Tate, Tyler Jay, James Kaprielian, Ian Happ, Kevin Newman, Alex Young and Nathan Kirby.
Also exclusive to Hobby, Prospect Playoff Ticket Autographs opts for more young studs. The checklist includes Kyle Schwarber, Yoan Moncada, Aaron Judge, Brett Phillips, Edmundo Sosa, Gilbert Lara, Magneuris Sierra, Manuel Margot, Rafael Devers, Luis Severino and Yu-Cheng Chang, among others. Collectors can also find Draft Tickets, Championship Ticketsand Cracked Ice Tickets and Printing Plates (1/1) parallels.
Draft Championship Tickets are the final Hobby-exclusive autograph set and centers on the recent MLB Draft picks. Top subjects include Brendan Rodgers, Brady Aiken, Daz Cameron, Kyle Tucker, Ashe Russell, Ryan Mountcastle, Jalen Miller, Peter Lambert and Garrett Whitley. Playoff Tickets, Championship Tickets and Cracked Ice Tickets, each numbered to 23 or less, can be found along with Printing Plates (1/1) parallels.
Featuring top global talent, International Tickets are led by Yoan Moncada, Vladamir Guerrero Jr., Edmundo Sosa, Adrian Rondo, Jose de Leon, Yadier Alvarez, Jairo Labourt and Lucius Fox. Rounding out the signed choices in 2015 Panini Contenders Baseball, Collegiate Connections Signature pairs notable alumni and Old School Colors Signatures looks back at the early years for all-time greats. Alumni Ink includes single-signed card for former college stars.
There are also a variety of inserts in 2015 Panini Contenders Baseball. Class Reunion, Collegiate Collection, Passports and Game Day Tickets each average six cards per box.
UPDATED INFO: Top autograph subjects Kyle Schwarber, Corey Seager and Yoan Moncada combine to fall two per case. The release will also include the first autograph options for 54 players, including Victor Robles and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Further building on the rarity, 30 percent of all the autographs will be either be a short print or numbered to 99 or less. Offering an extra hit, 1:3 boxes (4 per case) will feature a seventh autograph.
